Ten Restorative Places for Introverts
In a previous article I talked about sweet spots ( introvert’s utopia – the working spaces that feel like home). If you’re interested in that article, please check it out HERE.
Today we are talking about something slightly different.
We all know that introverts and extroverts function perfectly in opposite environments. 😌While extroverts get their energy from socializing, introverts prefer silence, rainy days, good books and the freedom to be creative.✨
So what are restorative places?🤔 They are your go-to places when everything feels too much. In these locations, you feel recharged, inspired and relaxed.
Ten Restorative Places for Introverts
Well, this one should not surprise you, lol. I like calling my home my utopia. (Same name goes for my blog💙). It’s where I feel creative and happy to be myself. I enjoy working, studying and exploring ways to improve my skills – all from the comfort of my home.😍
Escapes in nature are beneficial for highly sensitive people.💗 I’ve felt that on my own and it has been scientifically proven. I live in small town. There are only two small natural parks here so they are often crowded. It depends on the day, sometimes I don’t mind it, but when I feel the need to escape, agitation does not help. I much prefer going to the countryside or somewhere fresh, yet not so popular. 🦄
If you live near the sea, you’re lucky. From where I live, it takes around 7 hours to get to the seaside. I can’t swim so I can’t say I understand the excitement of feeling the waves against your body. If anything, that’s uncontrollable, therefore scary. 😶 But I do love the gentle breeze, night walks, the thin sand, the salty smell and the sound of waves. That’s why I consider the seaside to be a great place for an introvert to recharge. Do you feel the same?😊
Bookstores/Libraries (Introverts + Books = 💙 )
Silence✔ Ideas ✔Art✔ Fictional Places✔ It makes sense for bookstores and libraries to be ideal destinations for introverts. I love browsing through books and discovering little gems.🤩 Honestly, I mostly order books online since I can find reviews and lower prices on certain websites, but I also enjoy going to the local bookstore for the experience itself. Nothing beats that! Also, I much prefer paperback books to e-books. I find the reading experience more authentic.
We all have our favorite drink, don’t we? Even the thought of having a cup of coffee makes me happy, not to mention the smell of it and its flavor. Coffee? YES, please! I drink one cup of coffee every day and I often make it at home. However, if I feel like spoiling myself a little bit, I go to coffee shops. My point here is that it’s crucial for everyone to have me time, not to mention how important that is for introverts. So make sure you treat yourself. 🌟
I don’t have my own place yet. Not officially. Still, I can’t help but buy items that make this flat homey. Fairy lights, candles, abstract decor pieces, framed quotes, creative mugs – I want them all! 😍Going to the decoration aisle fills me with astonishment!🌌
Arts Supply Aisle
Similar feeling to the previous aisle. To be fair, I am not good at art. 😬 I am not even average. I am …trying? 😂I admit I buy more stationary than I need. I have my own small collection of notebooks and painting supplies – brushes, watercolors, oil paint. I like keeping them nicely on my desk and using them occasionally to express something my words can not transmit. Us introverts go through A LOT of emotional states. If you also feel trapped, my advice is turn to art, the talent is not so important. It’s the process that matters.🌟
Do you have a favourite place that no one else seems to appreciate? It could be a certain spot in a park or somewhere rural where pastel sunsets can be seen at their best. My opinion is that introverts are able to find beauty that is often overlooked. And that’s a quality I love.
Under the Night Sky
How to make an introvert happy? Step 1: Ask him/her to look up. (For the next steps, please read my future article😂). I don’t know anything related to astronomy. (Wait, no. I actually know how to find Ursa Minor – the constellation. 😏Does that count? ) What I know for sure is that I’ve always liked the sky. Stargazing has always made me feel powerful and dreamy in the same time. And I have noticed that many introverts have this inexplicable attraction towards the sky.🌌
The Online Realm
Besides places we daydream about, the online realm is where we spend A LOT of time.
Do you feel happy now? I hope you do. If so, you’ll always be welcome here, on my blog. I’m still working on opening-up, but I hope you can already feel the kind of person that I am. I’d like you know that every time you read my words, you feel appreciated and empowered. I’ll work hard on achieving that. 💙
