Five items that help me stay inspired
To me, being creative means more than coming up with original ideas.
It is the process of shedding your own light upon something that has always been in front of people.
Yet, they could never see it.
“Creative” is a BIG word. I am just a young adult coming up with random ideas – that sometimes happen to be relatable. Writing is a passion of mine and today I want to tell you about…
…Five items in my house that help me stay inspired 💡
Fairy lights / candles 🌟
Not all the best ideas come to visit you at home. No matter how many invitations you send them. You’ll have to go out, explore, notice things you might consider mundane at first. 🌈 I like coming back home with a fresh mind and new ideas to write about. Since I am an introvert, I also enjoy the solitude of my bedroom. 😊 My background is very important for magic to take place. What better item to make it happen if not my lightbox? Hmm… my fairy jar? Okay, maybe it’s a subtle, relaxing candle. Anyway, I need a form of light when the natural is doing its job.
I’m the traditional type. For me it’s easier jotting down ideas on paper rather than saving them in a text draft. 📝 These days I do my best to note my ideas. Some days I get plenty. On others, my muse is on holiday. 😂 It’s always useful and life-saving having some already written down.🤩
Coffee is my writing fuel. Every writing session is sponsored by coffee. 😂 (Not an ad) If it’s not coffee, then I take my unconventional light bulb glass and fill it with a fresh smoothie. (see the glass above)
My favourite Journal
“Steal like an artist” by Austin Kleon.
My words could never make it justice. This journal is amazing! I love all the creative exercises and the fact that I can personalize them according to my preferences. Brilliant!✨
Do you know that saying “Write about what you know.”? Of course it’s a must. But if you lack the feelings, your passion for the topic, the extraordinary emotion of sharing a part of you, then knowing the topic is not enough. I know when an idea is worth developing by the feeling it gives me. No matter how long and tiring my day has been up to that moment, once I get the feeling, that’s it. The energy is back and the words flow onto the keyboard! 💞
Music does wonders. It could be a line, a stanza or a whole instrumental song. Anything can spark the emotion inside me and the urge to write the story behind sounds. 🎶
